In the early 80's I volunteered at a local retirement center in Berkeley, CA. On Thanksgiving Day they setup a plastic turkey (just out of the frame on the right) and gave each resident a black plastic dart pistol, and instructed them to shoot the Turkey.

Once they accomplished this, as a reward, they were given a couple of cookies in a plastic bag, securely tied with a twisty tie. They were then wheeled back to their room, and spent the rest of the afternoon trying to remove the twisty tie, supposedly as a form of l physiotherapy...
